Gary and Sharon (Collins) Wilson

 

Gary Wilson has been Funeral Director and Embalmer for Wilson Funeral Home since 1961.   Gary graduated from Karnak Community High School in 1958.  He attended Carthage College before going to Chicago School of Mortuary Science where he graduated and received his degree in 1961.  Gary continues to work with his son Garrett at the funeral home.

Gary and Sharon Collins Wilson married in 1960 and have two sons and three grandsons.  Keith is their oldest son.  He works as Shipping Supervisor for DippinDots in Paducah, KY.  Keith and his wife Holly have one son, Trevor.  Garrett is Gary and Sharon’s younger son who has followed in his father’s footsteps working as Funeral Director and Embalmer at Wilson Funeral Home.  Garrett and his wife Karen have two sons, Ryan and Bradley.

Sharon graduated from Karnak Community High School in 1961 and attended Shawnee Community College ten years later graduating in 1973 with a degree in Secretarial Science.  She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant retiring from Trunkline Gas Company in Joppa, Illinois after twenty three years of service.  Sharon brings her acquired skills to Wilson’s Funeral Home and utilizes them as Lady Assistant and enjoys working alongside her husband Gary and her son Garrett.

 

 

Garrett and Karen (Shearer) Wilson

 

Garrett Wilson Has been Funeral Director and Embalmer for Wilson Funeral Home since 1989.  Garrett graduated from Century High School in 1985 and then graduated from Shawnee Community College in 1987.  From there he went to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois where he graduated with a Degree in Mortuary Science in 1989.  Garrett is very active in the community.  He is a member of the Karnak United Methodist Church; he was made a Master Mason on April 21, 2000 at the Belknap Masonic Lodge #822 and is now a member of the Stone Arch Masonic Lodge in Cypress, Illinois.

Garrett and his wife, Karen Shearer, were married on December 16, 1989.  Karen is a 1985 graduate of Century High School and a 1989 graduate of Shawnee Community College.  Karen is employed at Shawnee Mass Transit District as a Human Resource Specialist.  Karen also serves as a Lady Assistant at Wilson Funeral Home.

Karen and Garrett have two sons, Ryan, is employed as a Welder and Fabricator at Universal Technologies in Mayfield, Kentucky.  Brad, their younger son, is a Mechanical Engineer at Aisin Electronics in Marion, Illinois
