Peggy Wilson, age 87, of Karnak, Illinois passed away peacfully with her family by her side at 9:45 A.M. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Peggy was born January 28, 1937 in Karnak, Illinois.
She was a graduate of the Colorado Springs High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Peggy, along with her husband, J.M. Wilson owned and operated Wilsons Grocery Store in Karnak for over thirty seven years. Peggy and J.M. were united in marriage in 1957. Peggy was also a Mary Kay consultant for over twenty five years. She was a faithful member of the Karnak Methodist Church. Peggy enjoyed ballroom dancing, reading, cooking, caregiving and just staying busy. She loved spending time with her children, grand children and great grand children.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Chandra (Brent) Anderson of Karnak, two sons, Chad Wilson (Tom Hart) of Chicago and Tadge (Tammy) Wilson of Grand Chain; three grand children, Wesley Anderson of Grand Chain, Raegan Hannan (Cara Baltzell) of Karnak and Haley Anderson (Amanda) of Karnak; two great grandchildren, Hayden Rae and Tadge Michael Anderson; a special neice, Chris Helton; many special neices, nephews and grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Madison Wilson (2022); parents, George W. And Lucille Phenix Neimeyer; brother, George Neimeyer Jr.; sister, Genora Riggs; half sister, Georgialee Little; half brother, Bobby Tapley.
Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Peggy Wilson will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Karnak Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11 A.M. until the service hour. Interment will follow at the Cypress Cemetery in Cypress, Illinois.
Pallbearers will be Raegan Hannan, Haley Anderson, Wesley Anderson, Joe Ward, Keith Wilson and Chuck Evers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tadge Anderson and Hayden Rae Anderson.
