Stuart “Stu” Miller, age 72, of Grand Chain, Illinois passed away at 6:23 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Stu was born November 14, 1952 in Cairo, Illinois.
Stu was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dianna Wright; two daughters, Stephanie (Gary) DeBose and Melissa Parker (Grayson Gile); five grandchildren, Mariah (Austin) Robbins, Zachary Ledbetter (Emily Hailey), Mackenzie Parker (Dustin Barnett), Kristopher Parker (Madison) and Gavin Gile; six great-grandchildren, Brantley Robbins, Colt Robbins, Everette Robbins, Ryan Ledbetter, Dawson Barnett and Zella Parker.
Stu was a Pap to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ellery A. and Geraldine Mann Miller; brother, David Miller.
Stu as many knew him by worked at the Vienna Correctional Center until retirement after twenty nine years. Stu had also worked at Hale Implement in Grand Chain and Earnhart Farms near Perks. Stu loved to fish and have breakfast with his buddies from the prison.
He was a member of the Living Hope Fellowship Church and enjoyed having mens breakfast with the guys at Caledonia Church.
Graveside funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Stuart “Stu” Miller will be private family only at the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain. Pastor Kevin Badgley will be officiating.
There will be a public visitation Tuesday morning from 11A.M. to 1 P M. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Ledbetter, Khristopher Parker, Gavin Gile, Dustin Barnett, Austin Marshall and Austin Robbins.
