Louise Eastwood

Louise Eastwood entered very peacefully into her Heavenly rest on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 9:38 AM, at her home, surrounded by family and her caregivers. For Louise, her family was her first love, and she prayed daily for each and every member of the family. Her daughters, grandsons and sons-in-law were treasures, and she spent much of her time in prayer for them that the Lord would bless and keep them safe. Her home was her joy, and she loved nothing more than those days, such as holidays, when the family would gather and make memories.

Louise was born on February 5, 1929, to Jacob Luther and Minnie Rachel Helmig Bishop in Karnak, Illinois. She was a graduate of the Karnak Community High School class of 1946 where she was very active and was a cheerleader for the basketball team, of which Bob was a star player! Following High School, she went to beauty school in Harrisburg, Illinois, and received her cosmetology license. For several years she owned and operated a beauty shop located inside the Wilson store building. Often, she would reflect, fondly, on memories of that time and the customers she enjoyed “getting beautified”! She was an active and faithful member of the Karnak Methodist church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, served on the food committee, the fellowship hall building committee, sang in the choir and held many positions throughout her faithful years there. Even at 97, as long as she was able, she would attend Sunday school, church and Bible Study on a regular basis. Each time she would walk up the stairs to the sanctuary, she would say, “We have Russell Inman to thank for this center hand rail” and she used it faithfully. While the girls were in school, she was a faithful member of the Century Band Boosters and supported Century athletics and participated in a many a fundraising activity to support both Heather and Heidi. During those years that grandsons Bayne and Drey played baseball and football, she and Bob attended as many games as they possibly could and enjoyed each and every one, watching their beloved grandsons play.

She married her beloved husband of 70 years, Bob Eastwood, on December 19, 1951. To this union were born two beautiful daughters who she adored – Heather Ragene (Steve) Heisner of Karnak and Heidi Chris (Kevin) Farmer of Jackson, Missouri.

Louise is survived by her daughters Heather and Heidi, her sons-in-law, and two grandsons Derek Bayne and Drey Bishop Farmer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, a host of wonderful friends, her special friend and caregiver, Kim Mayer and two more very faithful and loving caregivers, Vicky Amirfar and Mary Burgess and her hospice nurse, Missy as well as her “Little Charity Trexler” who she loved dearly. She and Bob were also blessed with some of the best neighbors anyone could ask for.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Margaree Bishop Hunter, Hearl “Buddy” Bishop, Bruce “Spike” Bishop and Bill Bishop.

Funeral services for Louise Eastwood are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Karnak Methodist Church in Karnak, Illinois. Visitation for the public will be from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour, also at the church. Burial will follow at the Cypress Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any donations be to the benefit of the Karnak Methodist Church.

The family wants to extend its thanks to Wilson Funeral Home as well as to the staff of Pattie’s Caring Angels and Residential Home Health and Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

Aunt Louise was the most wonderful woman and I was blessed to be a part of her life. Full of life ~ loved her family and church family, too. May she Rest In Peace as she joins her family in Heaven Above. … Beth (Bishop) Chapman
