Robin Lee Hinton, 64, of Karnak, passed away at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at his home surrounded by the love of his family and intrusted fully into the hands of God.
Robin was a machinist for 44 years. He especially enjoyed his years working at LexAir in Lexington, Kentucky, where he was treated as family. He recently retired from Multivibe Inc. in Paducah, Kentucky.
A faithful Catholic Christian, Robin lived his life with a deep trust in God. His life was one of surrender-asking God each day to allow Him to do his will. The faith allowed him to experience many miracles and challenges, including his battle with the terrible disease of cancer. In the end, Robin surrendered one final time in God’s will and His promise of eternal life.
Robin had a wonderful life, experiencing God’s miracles along the way. He loved his family, loved children, and genuinely loved people. He had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, and he was never shy about inviting others into his life. One of his favorite introductions was simply, “Hi, I’m Robin.” And once Robin introduced himself, you were likely to become a friend.
Robin was a strong supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous and became a role model–and even an “old timer–hero”– to many. For many years, God used Robin as a vessel to help those struggling with active alcoholism. He freely gave his time, his compassion, and friendship. Whether providing transportation, lending a listening ear, or simply being there, Robin helped others find hope and reminded them that they were not alone.
He cherished his family and the simple joys of life. Robin especially loved watching his grandchildren play basketball and softball. He enjoyed visiting family in Owensboro, Kentucky, and treasured maintaining the childhood connection that remained important throughout his life. He was a good and faithful friend who touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
Robin was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Baird; his father’s, Richard Baird and Ray Hinton; and his brother, Loyd Hinton.
He leaves behind to carry on his memory, his high school sweetheart and wife of 18 years, Julie Hinton; his stepdaughters, Jessi (Brett) Green, Blair Anderson and Justin Ice; siblings, Lavida Mischel (Hal), Donna Duffy (Jim), Edward Hinton of Owensboro, Kentucky, Lonnie Hinton (Cathy) of Vienna, Illinois and Rick Baird (Becky) of Evansville, Indiana; brother-in-law, Alan Barnett and sister-in-law, Beverly Greer all of Karnak, Illinois; ten grandchildren, Hayden Anderson, Tadge Anderson, Baily, Raylynn and Brynlea Ice, Kinsleigh, Emmalyn, Dylan, Drew and Dane Green, as well as many nieces, nephews, extend family members and countless friends whose lives were made better because Robin was a part of them.
Robin was a two time kidney recipient. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Donate Life America, 5516 Falmouth St, suite 302, Richland, Virginia, 23230. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
Robin’s life was a testament to the power of faith, surrender, compassion, friendship, and love. He welcomed people with a simple “Hi, I’m Robin,” and in doing so, he made room for them in his life.
Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Robin Hinton will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2026 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 11 A.M. until the service hour. Deacon Gayle Rhodes and speaker Barry Fondaw will be officiating. Internment will follow at the Andersen Cemetery in rural Massac County, (the Boaz Community).

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Owensboro, Kentucky at a later date.
