Marlene Ann (Douglas) Loesekam, age 84, of Arnold, Missouri, formerly of Karnak, Illinois passed away June 26, 2024 at home.
Marlene was born December 15, 1939 in Cairo, Illinois to the late K. R. and Mabel Douglas.
Marlene was a 1958 graduate of the Karnak High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arnold, where she taught Bible study for many years. Marlene majored in Home Economics at SIU Carbondale and used her skills to run a restaurant in St. Louis and a hotel/restaurant in Desloge, Missouri. She worked numerous clerical positions in her lifetime from Coca-Cola to US Title.
Marlene is survived by three children, Cheryl (Steve) Heitmann, Douglas Loesekam, and Gregory (Elissa) Loesekam; ten grandchildren, Nicole (Brandon) Byrd, Audrey (Darren) Webb, Caleb (Ashley) Heitmann, Emilie (Jerred) Zingale, Micah Heitmann, Valoree Heitmann, Taylor Loesekam, Braden Loesekam, Carter Loesekam and Grace Loesekam; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Ellen (Jim) Wood and a brother, Charles (Sheila) Douglas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Delano Douglas and Larry Douglas.
Graveside memorial services honoring the life of Mrs. Marlene Ann (Douglas) Loesekam will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Anderson Cemetery in Boaz, Illinois. Everyone is asked to gather at the cemetery.
